EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING
FOR INDUSTRY SERIES
Industrial Fire Brigade
Initial (24 Hours)
At the conclusion of this program students will demonstrate the ability
to recognize hazards, employ relevant equipment and techniques necessary
to safely and effectively coordinate, perform and supervise a tactical
fire response or rescue operation in accordance with agency policies and
procedures. This course does involve live-fire operations in a training
structure.
Industrial Fire Brigade
Refresher (8-16 Hours)
This program is custom tailored to suit the refresher training needs of
your emergency response personnel. Corporate policies, regulatory updates,
protective equipment familiarization, and advanced skills can be covered.
This course can involve live-fire training, including portable extinguishers,
structural fires, building search and rescue, flammable liquids and gases,
and combustible metals.
Portable Fire Extinguishers (4 Hours)
This class can be conducted as initial or refresher training for any personnel
who may be expected to use portable fire extinguishers. Live-fire training
evolutions build confidence and competence.
Employee Safety (2
Hours)
This course may be used to train new employees in their fire safety responsibilities
or to refresh current employees in those same duties. Topics covered will
include initiating the alarm, evacuation, and basic fire prevention information.
Incident Command System – Managing Industrial Emergencies
(8 Hours)
This class covers the elements of the Incident Command System, which is
used by emergency response organizations worldwide to manage incidents
large and small. Emphasis will be placed on inter-organizational cooperation.
Class will culminate with several tabletop exercises.
Haz-Mat Incident Management
(8 Hours)
This class is based on OSHA's HAZWOPER standard for the Incident Commander
competency level. Elements of the Incident Command System, emergency response
plans, hazard and risk assessment, and the importance of decon procedures
will be discussed. As a prerequisite, participants must be certified at
the Operations level prior to attending this course.
Confined Space Awareness
(12-16 Hours)
This class meets the training requirements of 1910.146 and the confined
space “Awareness” objectives of NFPA 1670. The duties of entrants,
attendants, and supervisors will be discussed, with an emphasis on hazard
and risk assessment. Proper permit entry and non-entry rescue procedures
will be covered. The class culminates with several permit entries and
a mock retrieval in an actual confined space.
Confined Space Rescue
(40 Hours)
This class meets the training requirements of 1910.146 and the confined
space “Operations” objectives of NFPA 1670. Modules on air
monitoring and respiratory protection are included, as well as basic rope
rescue. The course relies heavily on practical evolutions to build competency.
The course can be conducted at your facility to incorporate common industrial
spaces that your team may encounter. An emphasis is placed on risk management
and rescue decision making for team leaders and incident commanders.
No rescue team? We
also provide standby service for confined space rescue.
Intro to Respiratory
Protection (4-8 Hours)
Based on the requirements of 1910.134, this class introduces the participants
to the respiratory protection devices utilized by the employer. Air purifying
respirators (APR’s), powered air purifying respirators (PAPR’s),
self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), and air line equipment can
be covered. Operating principles, limitations, and emergency procedures
will be discussed. Practical evolutions utilizing the equipment will be
included.
Air Monitoring (4-8
Hours)
This class addresses basic air monitoring principles for haz-mat response,
confined space evaluation/rescue, and industrial hygiene purposes. The
course is tailored to utilize the client’s gas meters and air sampling
devices so that participants become familiar with their employers equipment.
